What To Wear To Brown Interview

Bible vs. Holy Spirit

Time and again we hear with utter conviction statements such as:
"I believe in the Bible - the Bible is the Word of God - I live by the Bible - it tells me where to go," etc., etc..

That sounds all good and true, but you might occasionally get the impression that the Godhead consists of:

"Father, Son and Holy Scripture"

It occurs to me that this attitude favorite playing grounds and a corresponding share of (well camouflaged) with pride in itself, because you know eventually "his Bible" and has also the correct interpretation of them ready. The Bible is in our hands and available - does the Holy Spirit on the other hand, if we let ourselves be guided by Him and he may well be lost if we do not at his disposal ...

It's just the continuous witness of Scripture, which outstanding and indispensable role solely belongs to the Holy Spirit in the succession and how we live but by Him in our calling:

you great pains to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling.
Eph 4:3 +4

Scripture and their different interpretations led to divisions have always been - only the Holy Spirit is the unity of the Body of Christ, for Jesus gave His blood!

Now I'm quite himself a "Bible freak" and I never tire of arguing with their statements, but without the dynamis of the Holy Spirit is exactly caused this imbalance:

Scripture displaced the importance of the Holy Spirit!

"I believe in the Holy Spirit - the Hl.Geist discloses the written Word of God - I live with the Holy Spirit - He tells me where to go," etc. ..
except in the so-called "charismatic circles, rarely heard such statements.

was very gently and imperceptibly replaced the Living Word through the written word and to a certain glorification of the writings out, as we know them already from other religions. The unique and central role of the Holy Spirit in the life of a Christian is so often displaced by the Scripture.

we consider only that the first communities in general knew no New Testament written in the form and how much do you all shaped by the powerful action of the Hl.Geistes was so glaring difference is that we would immediately become clear.

We have every reason to be grateful for the writing and to know well, but we do have much more opportunity for the nature and effectiveness of the Holy Spirit to be grateful to know him well and a familiarity with him to have.

had almost two years ago I wrote a series of 3 parts about the Holy Spirit:
receive the Holy Spirit
nature and work of the Holy Spirit
